Kudzai Joseph Gumunyu is an Agricultural Economist. He is also a holder of a BSC Hon’s Agricultural Economics degree from the University of Zimbabwe and an MBA degree from the same University. 

Kudzai is a seasoned banker, agribusiness finance consultant and an author by profession. He has vast experience in Agribusiness Finance and has worked in both Zimbabwe and Nigeria. He has written his first book “Hard Boiled Egg Index: Surviving Zimbabwe’s Hyperinflation’’ where he narrates his harrowing yet comic experiences in Zimbabwe, during the hyperinflation that no other country had ever experienced before. 

Hard Boiled Egg Index; Surviving Zimbabwe’s Hyperinflation was published by LifeRich Publishing and second edition by Great Writers Publishing. The book is receiving very positive reviews and ratings on how countries and the ordinary person can manage hyperinflation. The book has been referenced and quoted in the media as a resource to learn the effects of hyperinflation on people’s lives. 

Kudzai has contributed positively and has been highly impactful in Agribusiness Finance spanning Nigeria and Zimbabwe. He has been very innovative in introducing new Agribusiness finance products solving African challenges in Agribusiness out-grower schemes and value chain and ecosystem banking which have enabled Smallholder farmers access finance.  

Kudzai is an innovative Agribusiness banker who has introduced products that are helping in mechanization, digital and Agritech solutions to agriculture, financial inclusion and commodity trading in Nigeria and Zimbabwe. 

Kudzai’s passion is to see Africa develop and catch up with the rest of the world through the upliftment of small holder farmers’ livelihoods through innovative value chain financing models and inclusive banking initiatives such as Agency Banking and mobile banking in Agricultural ecosystems.  

His other passion is farming, seed maize and commercial maize on a commercial farm in Zimbabwe.
