Supply Chain Evaluation- understanding the job to be done

Supply chain is one of the critical components of every industry, disruption in supply chain has often led to catastrophic impact on organizations and various economic sectors. The importance cannot be overemphasized. However, several situations such as covid-19 in time past and current situations such as the Russia Ukraine war has caused unavoidable and dire impact on supply chains globally. Considering this, organizations can incorporate turnkey solutions within an existing system to improve end-to-end use; by purchasing technological solutions and machinery that can enhance the performance of a current process, thereby reducing production cycle time without waste with these solutions.

Turnkey solutions such as supply chain efficiency/management affect the overall success of any business; to boost business productivity and profitability, there is need to improve and optimize company’s supply chain. An integrated supply chain strategy presents a better chance of enhancing performance than one that has been put together hastily as the business grows.

On the other end of the value chain, supply chain operatives have the task of meeting the rising demands of their customers; they need to keep up with ensuring products get to the market on time, implementing innovative technology, or reducing risk; the result is always to keep customers happy and loyal.
However, as the supply chain evolves and the latest trends come to the forefront, there are concerns supply chain managers will always have to deal with; disruption. While disruption can be both positive, peaks in business and challenges such as the effect of the pandemic can help supply chain executives and managers apply new strategies, predictive analytics, and innovation to keep their supply chain resilient.  The panel session will focus on discussing the challenges producers and suppliers are facing and their innovative approaches to managing them. In addition, discussions on navigating the supply chain dynamics, meeting supply standards and consumer preference, sustainability, sustainable production and consumption and optimizing production processes.

Session objectives:  This panel session will provide insights on trends and solutions that offer lasting remedies for a more sustainable economy.

  • The trend time-to-consumer is a measure of product flow efficiency; the less time it takes for goods to reach the end customer, the more efficient the product flow; a discussion on understanding the job to be done, increasing output, and meeting steady demand
  • What do the process and setup entail considering the cost implications of incorporating turnkey solutions?
  • How the use of supply chain management enables a more accurate, timely, and relevant information flow; to avoid missed opportunities and possible risks
  • The use of supply chain evaluation helps design effective best practices to facilitate different types of supply chain information that usually come in other formats and structures
