Olakunle Ajila is a co-founder and CEO at Simplebooks Inc. a cloud-based solution that streamlines financial tasks for small businesses by providing a cutting-edge online accounting and business management platform that offers a multi-channel solution for effortless record keeping, improved business management, and real-time financial reporting for financiers.

Olakunle is an accomplished professional in product development and management, boasting extensive experience in the SME and Retail banking industry. Hailing from Nigeria, he pursued an Animal and Environmental Biology degree at the University of Benin, later obtaining an MBA in Finance from the University of Lagos.

Throughout his career, Olakunle has developed a passion for helping small and medium-sized businesses flourish through innovative and effective products and services. His unwavering commitment to supporting entrepreneurs in building and growing their businesses is evident in his tireless work in developing tools and resources for this purpose.

Having held various roles in the banking sector, including product development and management, retail banking liability and risk assets portfolio management, and SME banking, Olakunle made the transition to the startup world with Simplebooks. He played a key role in the successful launches of several products, including the Central Digital Marketplace by Access Bank Plc, and the YesMall initiative by Skye Bank both are e-commerce applications for SMEs. He also spearheaded the EbonyLife "More Access to Market" Partnership program, providing affordable TV advertisement to SMEs, and the Skye Pearl proposition, a women banking initiative with a website membership of 7,600 and a community of over 100,000 women.

As the founder and CEO of Simplebooks, Olakunle successfully launched an MVP with over 1500 active users. Simplebks was shortlisted among the top 20 businesses from over 4000 applicants in the Orange Corners Nigeria Incubation Programme for Cohort 6, and was admitted into Microsoft Founders Hub.

In addition to various training programs and certifications, including Understanding Financial Statement/ Financial Statement Analysis, SME Banking Training, Retail Banking Training, and Agile Foundations, Olakunle is an Enterprise Design Thinking Practitioner and a Product Masterclass expert.

Olakunle's core values include integrity, transparency, and teamwork, and he believes in the power of collaboration to achieve common goals. He is also deeply committed to social responsibility, volunteering in various capacities, including as a community leader at his church.
